Sebago: Sebago:

A letter from the Creative Director Marco Tamponi

There are things that time does not wear away, but refines. They do not chase change, they move through it. They evolve while remaining true to the ideals and values that first brought them to life. They look to the future, never losing sight of where they began.

In 1946, in Portland, Maine, Sebago was founded with a clear and ambitious purpose: to craft products of superior quality, built to last, deeply rooted in the culture and aesthetic of America’s East Coast.

A landscape shaped by ocean harbours, university campuses and rituals handed down through generations – where the discipline of tradition lives in perfect harmony with the freedom of nature.

From the very beginning, Sebago interpreted that spirit with authenticity. Its creations came to embody the sporting elegance of the Ivy League, the resilient attitude of the nautical world, and the tangible integrity of craftsmanship that places the pursuit of excellence at the heart of everything. Not merely products, but objects designed to accompany time and, above all, to endure it.

Generation after generation, Sebago footwear has been worn, lived in and reinterpreted across the world. It has helped define the paradigms of taste and the codes of a lifestyle that are now instantly recognisable. Passed from father to son, they have become a tradition to preserve, a quiet secret shared between generations – like the things in life that matter most.

Today, eighty years after its foundation, Sebago continues to be driven by the same ideals that shaped its origins: a devotion to durability, a passion for craftsmanship. Above all, the belief that true, enduring style can still serve as a compass, guiding the brand as it expands its horizons and its world. A world that grows richer in meaning, telling its story in a contemporary and thoughtful voice, and opening itself to a community that is now stronger than ever.

To celebrate this anniversary is to honour a story shaped by vision and dedication. It is also to reaffirm a commitment: to continue building the future with the same care and passion that, in 1946, set everything in motion.

To Sebago, happy 80th anniversary.
To those who have walked this journey with us, our sincere thanks.
To those who will walk it in the years to come, welcome to a story that continues.

Happy Birthday Sebago.
