The Perfect Maintenance Guide
Strong and naturally water-resistant, waxed leather protects against rain and salt water—ideal for boat shoes and everyday wear. However, it still needs maintenance to prevent dryness and salt stains. Waxed leather is water-resistant, not fully waterproof.
Step 1. Shape
Insert cedar shoe trees to maintain shape and absorb moisture.
Step 2. Cleaning
Remove dust and dirt with a soft brush. After use — especially near the sea — wipe with a soft cloth and fresh water to remove salt and sand. Avoid harsh detergents.
Step 3. Conditioning
When the leather looks dull or dry, apply a small amount of nourishing cream for waxed leather with a soft cloth using circular motions.
Step 4. Protection
Finish with a dedicated waterproof spray to protect against water and stains. Reapply regularly, especially in humid conditions.
