Care

CLEANING & CONDITIONING

Properly cared for, a pair of shoes will last for years. Common mistakes many consumers make is to dry their footwear next to a heat source, which can crack the leather. Also damaging is storing shoes and boots in damp locations. In general, to care for your shoes, there are three steps to following - cleaning, drying and conditioning.

  • CLEANING - On a regular basis, brush away surface dirt with a soft brush. After extended use, wash with mild soap and warm water. Be sure to rinse away all soap as it is hydrophilic.
  • DRYING - Open shoe fully, remove footbed (if applicable) and laces, and dry at room temperature. Never expose to heat.
  • CONDITIONING - Recommended treatment depends on construction and materials used on the footwear (most treatments do alter the color and appearance of your leather/materials).
