Introduced in 1970, we never expected that Sebago Docksides® would become the icon of marine footwear that they are today. But then, we're not the ones who make our shoes a success. Customers like you do.
Since their very first time out of the shoebox and onto a boat, Docksides have been beloved by sailors everywhere. Appreciated for their handsewn genuine moc construction that wraps the foot in a single piece of form-fitting leather, delivering seamless comfort and hardwearing durability. As well as for their slip-resistant, non-marking rubber soles that offer sure-footed security, the functional rawhide laces, and their non-corrosive brass eyelets that help them look as good as they wear.
While Docksides themselves haven't changed, they have inspired collaborations, such as with design collective VANE New York City, as well as the popular Paris retailer, Colette. Sebago even partnered with VANE to launch their first pop-up store in New York City. Plus, in a step to evolve the popular Docksides® line, in 2009 Sebago introduced a new ankle boot nautically named "Lighthouse".
With so much to offer, it's no surprise Docksides have been popular since 1970. Given its dynamic past and appropriately buoyant future, we're fairly certain that's not going to change anytime soon. We have big plans to celebrate the 40th birthday of the Docksides in 2010. We hope you will be part of the celebration!
