Sandrinette: Paris

Posted On: Thursday, October 04, 2012 - Six Degrees

Africa is her continent and Paris is her city. Sandrinette (@sandrinetttttte)studied sociology for four years. Urban culture is her universe, with working at colette shop in Paris, France for the last seven years, has led her to create a web magazine, “What’s up kids!”. A site for kids, tweens/teens to find the latest in street-wear, music, events, & books. A web magazine with blogs held by young tastemakers themselves. Sandrinette also started a blog, Color Me Goood with her long time friend Marjorie “the other half of CMG”. A site which talks about everything & nothing specific. Sandrinette has been a member of colette team tumblr, which she blogs daily pictures from the colette shop. Sandrinette loves colors. Colors are what illuminate her days.

Raised on Ibiza in the good old hippie days & with a study stop-thru in Barcelona, Mayra Fateh (@mayrafateh) moved to Berlin in 2008 to work at the trade show Bread & Butter, where she is now Product Manager of the Street Fashion Area. Together with Michal Tesler she created the female online collective ‘eVe without adam’ in February 2010, a fresh format within the macro cosmos of lifestyle platforms, showing a contemporary mood-board of our Zeitgeist. As a fan of seeing the bigger picture, she is what we can call the new generation of flower children living in a present revolution of the female society.

Mdot: San Francisco

Posted On: Wednesday, October 03, 2012 - Six Degrees

Raised in a family business, Mdot (@boojilife) spent her younger years learning hands on how a business operates. These experiences were the root of her passion and drive to make things happen. Her motto is hard work always pays off. After studying I-D & furniture design, Mdot entered the footwear world with very little experience about creating footwear and the market. She spent 6 years co-directing JB Classics, an independent footwear brand. Involved in the day to day of building a brand was the experience that brought her to the next stage in her career. In 2008, she founded Booji, footwear & accessories brand. Keeping the momentum with creating and building a brand. Having a strong passion to make products lead Mdot to branch out, working with other brands in different industries. Relationships like these sparked her to curate an all female influencers project with Sebago for AW12. The project includes 5 females from around the globe brought together to bring their styles and taste to the market from a female prospective.

Mdot Booji, founder of footwear and accessories brand, Booji House since 2008, is one of the newest designers to collaborate with nautical brand Sebago® making it her largest collaboration to-date with Sebago® for their 2011 Artisan Collections. Through this collaboration, Mdot has been able to showcase her unique innovation and knack for creating classics with a twist. From this partnership with Sebago® emerged new relationships that ultimately led to Mdot’s desire to curate an all-female influencer’s project with Sebago® for their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection that would soon be known as: The Sixº Degrees.

Derived from the term ‘Six Degrees of Separation’ which is the idea that everyone is connected by six degrees, the Sixº Degrees collective includes one brand and five ladies from around the globe, bringing this wide range of identities together unveiled though far apart, and pinked by their passion, interests and drive.

The five bloggers of the new collection include Hana May of Hearty Magazine, Sandrinette of Color me Good and the Colette Team Tumblr, Mayra Fateh and Michal Tesler of Eve Without Adam. They also represent some of the world’s most vibrant cities like San Francisco, New York, Paris and Berlin.

The Sixº Degrees collection which will be unveiled fall, 2012.
