We are excited to announce that Sebago is the official footwear sponsor of the 42nd Annual Newport International Boat Show, one of the largest in-water boat shows in the world, taking place September 13-16, 2012 in downtown Newport, Rhode Island. Our Sebago heritage is centered in New England, and Newport is one of our favorite stomping grounds in that area of the world! We look forward to getting back there over the summer.
In addition, we will also be the official footwear sponsor of the Newport Yachting Center and Marina for the summer, and be at the following Newport events as well: Chowder Cook-off (June 2). Mdot Booji, founder of footwear and accessories brand, Booji House since 2008, is one of the newest designers to collaborate with nautical brand Sebago® making it her largest collaboration to-date with Sebago® for their 2011 Artisan Collections. Through this collaboration, Mdot has been able to showcase her unique innovation and knack for creating classics with a twist. From this partnership with Sebago® emerged new relationships that ultimately led to Mdot’s desire to curate an all-female influencer’s project with Sebago® for their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection that would soon be known as: The Sixº Degrees.
Derived from the term ‘Six Degrees of Separation’ which is the idea that everyone is connected by six degrees, the Sixº Degrees collective includes one brand and five ladies from around the globe, bringing this wide range of identities together unveiled though far apart, and pinked by their passion, interests and drive.

Interest in resurrecting the Sebago® Campsides program from the 1980s had brothers Kirk and Chris Bray knocking on Sebago's door. After initial meetings, another pattern caught their eyes as a better collaborative fit, an archived shoe called the Fairhaven. The style was originally designed to meet the needs of boat builders in New England and had a beautifully-simple design. The Brothers Bray apply their expertise from years handcrafting leather goods, to create their footwear collaborations with Sebago. Sebago Bala: Sebago Castines have been popular around the SAIL office for years, thanks to their incredible support and comfort. So when the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, stepped out in Canada wearing the Sebago Bala, we just about died. Getting our own pair turned us into raging sailor princesses, renaming our boat the HMS SeaDeucer adn serving tea on the rail. The ultra-feminine construction practically screams "wear me with capris and a tiara!" And while club members burst into fits of laughter when we walked into the bar wearing a peacock fascinator on our heads, the Balas produced the right kind of inquires, such as, "Where on earth did you find such cute boat shoes?"
